100 Black Men of Syracuse, Inc and students from LeMoyne College joined together to do cleaning in various parks and gardens throughout Syracuse as part of the A-OK Acts of Kindness weekend held on 9-11 and 12th, 2010.
The Sunnycrest Park Association and Syracuse Parks Conservancy provided volunteers to help coordinate the cleanings at the various locations and plantings of 34 trees!
The Syracuse Parks Conservancy also gave away 500 daffodil bulbs throughout the city. Cleaning and tree plantings were done at Sunnycrest, Sheridan and Lougen Parks. The Freedom Garden and Rain Garden/Native Garden were also worked on.
The day proved to be a huge success and everyone involved had a great time. Our thanks to all those involved and to the Women Transcending Boundaries organization for helping to make the A-OK Weekend possible.
